		<description>Original post under &quot;Secretary of Agriculture – Bill Northey is an incumbent who has long worked hard for Iowa farmers and all aspects of the Iowa agriculture industry.  (following deleted portion) -The Democrat candidate running against him has in the past, worked for the EPA. Do Iowa farmers need more EPA regulations on farming practices?  No – Iowa farmers are the best caretakers of Iowa farms.  It is not only their land and their livestock – it is their livelihood,  their lifestyle.  Bill Northey understands this.&quot;

Information from Mr. Thicke&#039;s web site - &quot;At the appointment of Iowa Governors, Francis has served on the Iowa Environmental Protection Commission, the Iowa Food Policy Council and the Organic Standards Board&quot;

		<description>Dear KT,

I am the Democrat who is running against Bill Northey for Iowa Secretary of Agriculture. You said in your blog, above, that I have worked for the EPA in the past. That is not correct; I have never worked for EPA.

I have in the past worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Washington, D.C., where I served as National Program Leader for Soil Science.

I am a dairy farmer and have been a full-time farmer for 27 years. I also am a scientist, with a Ph.D. in agronomy/soil fertility.

Thank you for making that correction to your blog.
