About

Who are the Sheldon Tea Party Patriots and what do we do?

We are one of many diverse groups of people gathering in large and small towns across the nation with a common thread – We are concerned over the ever increasing government control pressing down on the American people and we will not sit idly by, playing the fiddle while America burns.

Too many elected officials have an elitist attitude, even opening ridiculing the Constitution of the United States.   A government boastful in their power that oppress us, impose on our family and future generations skyrocketing national debt, and weaken  our liberties, is not a government of the people, for the people, by the people.

”Patriotism is not short, frenzied outbursts of emotion, but the tranquil and steady dedication of a lifetime.”  Adlai Stevenson.

We are working towards a return to freedom laid out in the founding documents of our great nation as being the best possible avenue for peace and prosperity.  We believe the United States has been blessed by God but we have fallen away with legalization of abortion, homosexuality and the demonizing of Christianity. If you are ready to do your part in bringing America back to true freedom, please join us, our country needs you now more than ever. Let’s take an active stand for freedom and put feet to our beliefs. We are working to educate ourselves through Constitutional studies, sharing of current legislative and political information, bringing in speakers and holding legislative forums.  We believe elected officials work for us. We expect them to be virtuous people and we actively seek political candidates of integrity who will respect and put into practice their vow to uphold the Constitution of the United States of America.

We meet every first Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm at the Iowa State Bank meeting room in Sheldon.

“But you must remember, my fellow-citizens, that eternal vigilance by the people is the price of liberty, and that you must pay the price if you wish to secure the blessing.”  Andrew Jackson
