This is to all America’s patriots who are weary. Weary as they watch their country being dismantled bit by bit, with amazing speed. As we call, write and plead with our leaders to what seems to be no avail, it is easy to become discouraged. We helplessly wring our hands as we watch legislation being passed without it even being written, listen to Legislators openly mock the Constitution (Pelosi, CA) and blatantly tell us “the federal government can pretty much do anything it wants“ (Starks, CA). Unconstitutional czars are given power and money that impacts our lives in a very real way. Memos that expose corrupt men willing to execute amnesty without any Congressional input come to light. Bailout after bailout continue without any regard to our free market system or to our future generations. We are afraid of our government.

It would be easy to say the battle is too big and give up. But we must not give up. We must fight on. Because we are fighting to preserve some thing the world has never had. We are fighting to preserve a country based on principles and laws that give freedom and opportunity to any man like none before it.

Remember George Washington’s many losses and great struggles at Valley Forge as his men deserted, starved and limped about with bloody feet. And then the battle of Saratoga where the tide of the Revolutionary War turned in the Colonist’s favor. Remember the internal fighting amongst the Colonies after the Revolutionary War was won so that many feared the nation would eventually self destruct. But the wisdom and integrity of our Founding Fathers won the day as the men at the Continental Congress hammered out the miracle of our Constitution–the oldest and shortest Constitution in the world that launched the greatest country of the world. Remember the continued losses for the North during the Civil War and then the turning point of Gettysburg. Remember the Brit’s resolve to fight the Nazis in spite of nightly bombings on their cities with Churchill’s “never, never, never, never give up” leadership.

As we think of low points of our history and the history of other nations, it encourages us to fight on.

If we do not fight on, what sort of future are we holding out to our children?

Our family’s homes might soon become shoddy from neglect because we no longer can afford to maintain and improve them. Will we yield to some unelected agency elitists who won the debate on the false science of carbon emissions and have “power grids” manned by some distant central planner to regulate our thermostat, and telling us what light bulbs we may have? They would soon have us drive the one to two seat cars that are essentially powered by lawn mowers.

Deep in our hearts, we all know children raised in homes with a mom and a dad is by far the best for them. We’ve seen the frustrated moms, where the welfare state has fed them the lie that they can go it alone–without a husband; that kids will be okay without a dad. And men are robbed of their natural calling to protect and provide for their families and the self-respect that goes along with that role.

The State’s promise to be all things to all people has failed miserably–again.

Are we setting up the young and old alike for the addictions of alcoholism and drug abuse because there is little hope to improve their lot in life? Hope deferred makes the heart sick (Prov. 13:12a).

We fear there are few truly elderly or mentally or physically handicapped children around anymore. Socialized medicine doesn’t pay for their care.

Will we become a nation where Shari’a law is acknowledged and other countries demand homage so freedom as we’ve known it is simply a faint memory of the past?

Slavery of a different type, no longer just in the cotton fields, but in all areas of the workplace would become the norm. Monstrous taxation of the state so that a few may continue to live extravagant lives on the backs of the people would replace the freedom inherent in capitalism. Age-old truths of living beyond your means have come home to roost.

This bleak picture is not new to our world. It is the story of many countries today as it has been the history of monarchies and dictatorships of the past. There is always wealth and there has always been oppression. But America has been and still is different. At least is still is. America is different because America’s law is based on the justice and rightness of Scripture and the truth of man’s nature. And if America’s laws can be destroyed and altered to satisfy the whims of man, instead of the truths laid out in our Judeo-Christian heritage, we are bound to repeat the history of so many other cultures.

Thomas Jefferson understood that our government could become corrupt but always believed the correct education of the people would right the ship. In 1782, he said: “Every government degenerates when trusted to the rulers of the people alone. The people themselves, therefore, are its only safe depositories. And to render even them safe, their minds must be improved to a certain degree.”

Even when everything looks so dim, we must fight on. America is worth fighting for, Patriots! You don’t know the history of our great country and its Constitution? Educate yourselves. Read the Declaration of Independence alongside the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Dig deeper with the Federalist Papers. Seems too daunting of a task by yourself? Seek out people who do know and ask them to help you.

Educate your children. While some students are getting it through teachers who still love America, the vast majority of our children aren’t and you must accurately educate them and your grandchildren. It is imperative that future generations understand what we have in this country and what will happen to them if it is lost. History is important. Truth matters. A significant reason our Constitution was the success it was is due to our Founder’s vast understanding of history and studying previous government’s strengths and weaknesses.

Spend a great deal of time on your knees before the God of the Bible. As Abraham Lincoln said: “Nevertheless, amid the greatest difficulties of my Administration, when I could not see any other resort, I would place my whole reliance on God, knowing that all would go well, and that He would decide for the right.” –October 24, 1863 remarks to the Baltimore Presbyterian Synod.

Study the Progressive movement in the early 20th Century to see where we went wrong. Let politicians know we don’t want an elitist/agency/bureaucrat-run country. Russia, China, Cuba–those are agency-run countries where some centralized bureaucrat makes the decisions for the multitudes. Look at the misery of their people. Is that what we are aiming for? We don’t need a handout or another regulation or another agency or bureaucracy to figure out the problem.

We’re a Republic of the people, not a nation of sheep led by a few “all knowing” and “all perceiving.” We the people are still the basis of our country’s greatness. Offer solutions to our leaders. Call them and offer ideas as to how our state and country might return to its greatness.

As we further understand that governance based on the principles of the Constitution is the litmus test for legislation, and that government is not the grantor of our rights, God is, we will be more confident and vigilant in protecting those rights. We simply need laws based on the powers enumerated in our Constitution and people willing to abide by them. So you realize they are passing laws left and right that have no Constitutional basis? Hold them accountable! Tell others what they are doing and get them out of power as quickly as you can.

Run for office. Be that individual of integrity, selflessness and wisdom who runs for county supervisor, school board member, mayor or state legislator. Understanding the Constitution (and Iowa’s Constitution) doesn’t just apply to the big guys in D.C or Des Moines. It should impact every law we enact at every level. Teach your children the importance of being a selfless people who live righteous lives so that they too may one day serve their country in some such capacity. Quit worrying how you will look to the neighbors if you stand up for what is right. Honesty, truth, courage, integrity –character traits that still matter. These traits may be in short supply in the halls of legislators, but they are not lacking in the American people.

Don’t give up, Patriot. The fight is worth it. The future of our country needs you like it has never needed you before. On March 4, 1861, in Lincoln’s First Inaugural Address, he said: “Intelligence, patriotism, Christianity, and a firm reliance on Him, who has never yet forsaken this favored land, are still competent to adjust, in the best way, all our present difficulty.” May Lincoln’s sentiments hold true 149 years later.

I was quite troubled by an article (shown below) that I received via email. I emailed Senator Grassley’s office about this to find out what could be done to thwart this White House effort for amnesty. Following the article I am including the response I received from Senator Grassley’s staff. I believe the only course we have is to make a strong effort to let the President know that something this important cannot be done by executive order but must be debated and approved or defeated in the U.S. Congress. We are a democratic republic; we have not approved dictator control or a monarchy. Please join me in contacting the White House about the President’s “No Vote Plan” using this website: http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact/
Sincerely,
Dwayne Alons
NEW OBAMA OFFICIALS’ MEMOS SHOW AMNESTY PLAN FOR MILLIONS WITHOUT ANY VOTE IN CONGRESS

The U.S. Senators who have been demanding answers from the Administration about a rumored administrative amnesty have now revealed shocking memos from top Obama officials.

They show Obama Administration officials offering a detailed plan that would offer actual or de facto amnesty to millions of illegal aliens without Congress ever taking a vote.

In this way, the Administration would be able to reap the thanks of all the cheap-labor, outlaw industries relying on illegal labor, as well as the entire pro-illegal voter base.

But no Member of Congress would have a vote for amnesty on his/her record while facing elections.

A day after a federal judge ruled that the people of Arizona can’t enforce immigration laws against illegal aliens, this memo shows a grand plan for the Obama Administration to ensure that most illegal aliens get work permits, keep their jobs and prevent unemployed Americans from getting the jobs instead.

######################################################################################
Rep. Alons – thanks for your email. I handle immigration for the Senator. I was the one that found and made public the memo. We are doing our best to get the word out that this Administration has plans. They are trying to come up with creative ways to keep illegals here, and without Congressional action. The memo is scary, and the best thing you can do is to speak out against it and let the White House know that it’s unacceptable. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Staff Member
Sen. Charles E. Grassley

Below is a letter from the city responding to a letter of support. In the city’s letter, they state they are preparing to be sued and are establishing a defense fund. All the info is included if you would wish to donate to the fund.

The City of Fremont would like to thank you for your words of encouragement and support. As you know, the voters approved the immigration ordinance on June 21st, 57% to 43%. The new law is expected to become effective around July 29, 2010.

In the meantime, the City has established a Legal Defense Support account. We have been contacted by several entities and it appears that the City will be sued very soon.

Although we have been offered pro bono legal services, that same attorney is asking us to “cooperate with efforts to obtain reimbursement” for these services. In addition, we may need to pay for depositions, expert witnesses, costs of discovery, plaintiff’s fees, and other related costs. In most other communities that have taken this path, these costs have totaled well over $1 million.

Your financial support to help us pay these costs would be greatly appreciated. Our only alternative would be to raise taxes, cut city services or some combination. Please designate “Legal Defense Support” on your check so that we can deposit your contribution to the proper account.

Take Action Now: In June, Congressman Steve King of Iowa filed a petition that would force the U.S. House of Representatives to vote on repealing Obamacare. We must repeal Obamacare, now! Tell your Member of Congress to sign the petition to repeal Obamacare.

The Heritage For Action is supporting Steve King”s bill to repeal health care. Pelosi has stopped the bill in the house so we need to get 218 votes to get the bill to the floor for a vote. Heritage For Action is featuring a phone number a day of congressman who have not yet signed the bill to flush out those who say that they want to repeal health care but will not sign the discharge petition. Todays congressman is Eric Cantor.
Everyone should call Cantors office today and ask him to sign the petition……202-225-2815.

There is also a prepared email to just fill in your name and send to congress. Here is the website http://heritageforamerica.org/

Imagine the impact that Americans of faith could have on the future of our nation, the character of its leadership and the moral health of its people if we all applied biblical principles to every aspect of our lives – inclouding our participation in the democratic process.

It is absolutely critical that Christians be registered, be informed and vote our values. As believers, we have a duty to be involved in the democratic process. But our charge is not simply to vote the way our friends or family vote, or the way our political party wants us to vote, or even with concern only for our pocketbook. Instead, we must vote our values, our beliefs, our convictions. An informed vote takes effort. The choice is not always easy, but it is always significant.

Join with Christian leaders of all denominations who love God to humble ourselves, pray, seek the face of God, and turn from our wicked ways—individually and as a nation.

When: Sat., May 1, 2010 – From Sunrise (6:10 A.M.) to 2:00 P.M.
Where: The Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C.

This event is not to impress the media or those in Washington, but to reach the heart of God. Publicly repenting and crying out to God for His mercy instead of the judgment our many sins deserve. Repentance in personal and corporate prayer to God and remembrance of His work throughout our nation’s history will be major parts of the day as we seek God to do a great work of revival or reformation in our time. The tentative plan is to begin the day with an hour of worship and praise.

www.mayday2010.org

Of course, it is not necessary to be in Washinton D.C. on May Day in order to pray for our nation. We encourage every person to be praying in this time of great need.

“If My people, which are called by My Name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” II Chronicles 7:14

At what point should a free people give up? How many times should we continue to voice our opinions that something is bad for us, personally and as a country? For those of us who enjoy history, we’ve seen George Washington’s Army on the verge of collapse, only to fight a battle that turned the war in the American’s favor. Maybe we remember the continued Southern victories to be suddenly changed at the small Pennsylvania town called Gettysburg. The Union would be preserved, but only because those weary soldiers and their commanders continued fighting. Normandy Beach was yet another example of persevering against incredible odds to fight the evil that was winning the day.

We are also in a battle. While we are not wielding guns, sacrificing human life or rationing food, the battle is nonetheless significant. Will you continue the fight against government take-over of our health care? These continued assaults on our freedoms are not as seemingly terrifying as the previous battles mentioned, but they have every bit as much significance to the America we all know and love and hope to pass onto our posterity.

MARCH 18TH, or sooner, the Congress is going to again try to pass the Health Care Bill (H.R. 3590): Here are a few details: (for further review, go to RPC Health Care Facts)

LOSS OF DOCTOR CHOICE and INSURANCE CHOICE: This will be the case in these bills.

COSTS: The proposed bill would raise, not lower, health care costs by hundreds of billions in its first 10 years alone.

(It would raise individual health insurance premiums by an average $2,100 for every family and the President’s proposal would likely raise that number even higher.)

SECRET DEALS: If this is such a necessary and wanted bill, why are the politicians bribing States in order to get the votes? I.e., Cornhusker Kickback, Gator Aid and Louisiana Purchase, just to mention a few.

MANDATES: These bills mandate that Americans buy health care. This is unconstitutional.

MORE BUREAUCRACY: New Federal bureaucracy of an unelected board to impose government price controls and micro-manage health insurance premiums.

ABORTION: Is still covered by Federal funding.

JOB KILLER: The President’s proposal nearly triples the “fair share” penalty for employers from $750 to $2,000 creating an even higher tax on jobs for companies that cannot afford to offer health coverage.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST: ASK THEM WHY THEY AREN’T GOING TO BE UNDER THESE MANDATES

At our Tea Party Meeting the other night, a man lamented that he had not taken the abortion issue seriously enough when Roe v. Wade was decided and regrets to this day that he had not done more. Do we want to be voicing the same regrets to our children when we still have the ability to stop this travesty of our freedoms?

Call often and respectfully to Rep. Steve King: 202.225.4426

Senator Chuck Grassley: 202.224.3744

Senator Tom Harkin: 202.224.3254

The American public knows that if anyone needs a doctor, it is our own Congress…. to clean out their earwax so they can hear us for the last time…..KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF OUR HEALTH CARE!

To quote one of the staunchest fighters for freedom: “NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER GIVE UP!” Winston Churchill.
Make the phone calls, write the letters, send the emails, drive to their offices! Do whatever it takes. Get your friends and family to do it. Courage, persistence, vigilance. Is it really that difficult? No and I promise you, you will not regret it.

The Iowa Supreme Court judges unanimously legislated Iowa law to be changed in 2009. From the beginning of time marriage has been between one man and one woman but these judges changed Natural law to something else in Iowa’s law books. One of the many effects is the rewriting of language that refer to a husband and a wife. Copied below is just a part taken from a house study bill concerning taxes showing some of these language changes. You’ll need to overlook the bill’s line numbers as it does not read nicely in this format.

While this is just one bill the Iowa legislators are looking at right now requiring langue changes, do you wonder how many more language changes we will face since the judges legislation on defining marriage? How many more language changes in laws, legal documents, marriage ceremonies, and teacher to parent conferences? Iowa school children have access to many library books about families with one mom and one dad. What about these books our children read in school? Do you think the gay activists have thought about that? You can bet they have — that, and much more. This is not about simple word changes and it’s not about tolerating other’s changed sexual preferences. This is about change in our beliefs. If you believe like I do that God ordained marriage only between one man and one woman, put feet to your convictions. Contact Iowa legislators – any of them / all of them. http://www.luviowa.com/

House Study Bill 705

“29 23 person as an employer, and deferred compensation plans or any 29 24 earnings attributable to the deferred compensation plans, 29 25 up to a maximum of six thousand dollars for a person, other 29 26 than a husband or wife married person, who files a separate 29 27 state income tax return and up to a maximum of twelve thousand 29 28 dollars for a husband and wife married persons who file a 29 29 joint state income tax return. However, a surviving spouse 29 30 who is not disabled or fifty=five years of age or older can 29 31 only exclude the amount of pension or retirement pay received 29 32 as a result of the death of the other spouse. A husband and 29 33 wife Married persons filing separate state income tax returns 29 34 or separately on a combined state return are allowed a combined 29 35 maximum exclusion under this subsection of up to twelve 30 1 thousand dollars. The twelve thousand dollar exclusion for 30 2 married persons shall be allocated to the husband or wife each 30 3 spouse individually in the proportion that each spouse’s 30 4 respective the pension and retirement pay received by that 30 5 spouse bears to the total combined pension and retirement pay 30 6 received by both spouses. 30 7 Sec. 42. Section 422.9, subsection 1, Code Supplement 2009, 30 8 is amended to read as follows: 30 9 1. An optional standard deduction, after deduction of 30 10 federal income tax, equal to one thousand two hundred thirty 30 11 dollars for a married person who files separately or a 30 12 single person or equal to three thousand thirty dollars for 30 13 a husband and wife married persons who file a joint return,…”

http://coolice.legis.state.ia.us/Cool-ICE/default.asp?Category=BillInfo&Service=Billbook&ga=83&menu=text&hbill=HSB705

(*slash thrus of “husband and wife” did not come through on the posting but is corrected best can do)

A similar bill with language changing is SSB 3200. In the House, the floor manager for HSB 705 is Rep. Sharon Steckman and subcommittee members are Rep. Charles Isenhart and Rep. Erik Helland. In the Senate, the floor manager for SSB 3200 is Sen. Pam Jochum, subcommittee members are Sen. Joe Bolkcom and Sen. Brad Zaun. Instead of taking time to redefine marriage, lawmakers need to take up the Iowa Marriage Amendment and begin the process of letting Iowans vote on the definition of marriage.
