Dear KT,

I am the Democrat who is running against Bill Northey for Iowa Secretary of Agriculture. You said in your blog, above, that I have worked for the EPA in the past. That is not correct; I have never worked for EPA.

I have in the past worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Washington, D.C., where I served as National Program Leader for Soil Science.

I am a dairy farmer and have been a full-time farmer for 27 years. I also am a scientist, with a Ph.D. in agronomy/soil fertility.

Thank you for making that correction to your blog.

If you like national health care, you’re going to love national curriculum! And, if you like national health care, then, you’ll love U.S. Dept of Edcuation Assistant Deputy Secretary Kevin Jennings’, and those like him, helping craft the common core standards for health education as well! He founded the Gay and Lesbian Independent School Teachers Education Network, and with his having authored six books on gay rights and education, has the credentials as the Obama administration values for educating young Americans. Of course, in Helena Montana, where a controversial sed ed program has pitted parents against the schools desire to teach first graders that sex with the same gender is “love” and other specifics that most parents objected to, the parents are able to FIGHT BACK as they have a LOCAL school board to challenge; however, if you think they’ll get an audience in Washington, DC, to challenge that curriculum . . . well . . . you get the idea. My hat is off to Peggy Littleton in Colorado and any other state board member in any state who is willing to stand up and fight the good fight to protect our children from the radical, leftist, socialist, homosexual, and anti-American agenda of the Obama Administration.

Millions of baby-boomers are nearing retirement, and so the government is hungry for cash. Somehow they need to generate the revenue to make the social security payments to these millions of retirees.

I can’t help thinking that this healthcare bill is just another government scam to generate the cash to pay for it’s previous ill conceived and mismanaged obligations.

It is a given that healthcare will suffer because they will use the funds collected to make social security payments, and to spend on anything else they feel is important. I expect that only a fraction of what they take from us, ostensibly for healthcare, will actually be spent on healthcare.

After everything we have seen, especially in the past few years, can anyone doubt that this is exactly how things will play out?

I’m a Sioux Center native now living in Scottsdale, Arizona. I still call Sioux Center “Home” and always will.

I’m also a “Conservative” from birth and thrilled that you guys are doing it right by pooling your ideas, energy and actions in the right direction.

Here in Arizona our Tea Party and 9-12 groups have decided NOT to endorse either John McCain or J.D. Hayworth at this time because it’s too far from the ‘Primaries’ and things can change between now and then. I think that is a wise decision that I would encourage you folks to do as well when it comes time for you to advise your members. (I didn’t and will NOT vote for McCain. I already know what his politics are.)

Don’t give up, keep up the hard work and “Be Careful when the time comes to “Crawl in bed” with someone”…you know what I mean.

I find this fascinating. I always was taught in school that it was a holiday to honor Presidents Washington and Lincoln. But according to Wikipedia, that bill never passed congress. Except where states rule otherwise, it IS officially “Washington’s Birthday” even though it never actually falls on Washington’s Birthday, February 22.

When was the last time the US had no debt and who was president? Yes, it only occured once. If you watched “The Presidents” on the History Channel, you might know the answer.
